Following is from Trillium News, Summer 2011. Issue 195.

While the Annual General Meeting was a great get-together and all attending enjoyed the location and the great MG social aspect, our meeting failed to set up a new executive for the next two years.

In order to close the business meeting it was decided / (not voted) that a temporary Committee be set up to keep our Register in running order until the sufficient number of Executive positions could be filled. This Temporary Committee (TC) will attempt to coordinate the rebuilding of our Executive, Any member interested in volunteering or nominating someone should contact Ken Elms on the TC at 905-536-1968 or by .

The positions that require filling are:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer

No special skills are needed for the positions... just a small amount of time and the desire to help our Register live up to our motto - Preseve, Maintain & Enjoy.

The following minutes were taken by Marion Mason who, having resigned as the Executive committee Secretary, was under no obligation to do so.

The minutes have not been approved by any elected member of the Executive, or anyone else who might have the authority to approve them. As such they are an unofficial record of the proceedings at the Annual General Meeting.

4.ELECTIONS

Dave Knight stated that with all our advertising in the magazine, at pub nights, by phone, etc., not one person had stepped forward to be the next president or vice president. A discussion ensued. Marion Mason was adamant that a president and vice president should be voted in and that with over 100 members, someone should be willing to step up and keep the club going. Bob Dobrenski asked if anyone would be opposed to changing the rules for executive positions and no one opposed. Bob felt one person must take responsibility and a second person should be willing to learn and be ready to take over.

Bob felt these persons should be appointed rather than voted in. There is no incentive for people to be on the executive.

Ken Elms did not feel 1 person should be in charge without being elected, but that 4 or 5 directors as a team could equally make decisions for the club. He suggested we set up a steering committee as a temporary team until we can put forth names for an election for a chairman to chair this committee who could make decisions together to be voted on.

Dave Nicoll said an executive should head up a club, not 1 or 2 directors. He suggested that the club needs nurturing by people who care and have some enthusiasm for the club. He suggested that club members should get up and take a turn at being on the executive. New members would be a big help and would bring new thoughts.

Four or five members said they would be willing to be on the team to act together, including Bob Dobrenski, Ken Elms, Jim Slyfield, and Wally Stubgen.

Nothing was decided or voted on and Dave Knight said as Past PRESIDENT, he would contact them and have a meeting.

5.OLD BUSINESS

6.NEW BUSINESS

Ken Elms stated that there were more MGA'S now coming to events. In 1971 you were not a member unless you had a T car.... but now if people are coming out to events, what does it matter what they drive?

He said we should step back and take a look at the situation. We have new members ==make a change..invite people with or without a T car. No vote was taken on this. It was left up to the new executive.

Bob Grunau said that in the original constitution, MGA's were accepted.

Dave Lawley said that Dick Knudson eased up in New England and they now include all historic MG'S. The MGB is now 30 years old.

We should now reintroduce the MGA plaque. It was an executive decision 5 years ago to take out the MGA plaque from the awards.

An MGB person can be a chairman but not on the executive.

The new executive should decide on these decisions as a group.

7. SPRING GOOF--No member has stepped up yet to run this.

8. FALL GOOF-- To be run in September by Hilary and John Orrell
